HISTORY

Hamadera used to be a major resort spot that prospered from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. You will still see many mansions built as vacation houses for wealthy merchants, mainly in Senba, Osaka.

SAKAINOMA HOTEL HAMA is one of the mansions.

The mansion was vacant for about 10 years, and it has been renovated recently into an accommodation facility. It was the desire of the 4th generation owner to keep this as a property of the town and carry the lifestyle and culture of the past.

CONCEPT

The mansion of a foundry dealer was built in the early Showa era.
The atmosphere of the past is maintained, such as the rare shoin (traditional architectural style), shoji (paper screen), fusuma (Japanese sliding doors), and engawa (porch). The area is over 700 square meters with a spacious garden, a hall, and a foundry bath tub, you can experience the life of a wealthy merchant. Enjoy the quality of the building that is particular about the design and space, and have something different that you can only experience here.

Check in at the foundry “Fukui Kiyoshi Shoten”, which is run by the owner next to the hotel.

There are many rare items lined up, so you can enjoy the texture with your hands. If you are interested in the products, the owner can explain about them in detail.

If you make a reservation 4 days before the check in date, we will prepare udon noodle hot pot from “Dotonbori Imai”.

Otori taisha Shrine

An Ichinomiya, Izumi Province’s Shinto shrine that is known for being a remarkable spiritual experience, and was listed in the Engi-shiki Shinto shrine, which was built in the 5th year of the Encho era (927 AD).
