Our site lies at the southern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains,1,000 meters above sea level. On a 2000-square-meter plot of land surrounded by green forest stands a row of tiny houses, seasonal vegetables grow in the fields, and frogs and fish live in a small pond.
The common house serves as a multipurpose area where people can eat together and commune, while in the studio, skilled craftsmen are hard at work building tiny houses. Here, our staff, together with the people that find themselves drawn here, pursue tiny houses as a way of life and grow a community.

A tiny house is a way of life. That's how we see it. It's about selecting for what you really need, what makes you happy, and creating a space where you can be comfortable. It's about distinguishing between what you own, and what you share. It's about building parts of your life with our own hands, and spending time and money on things that you take interest in. Above all, it's about enjoying each day to the fullest.
"Life with flexibility in a small house"
A stage set for building, playing, thinking, innovating, and connecting while exploring the infinite possibilities of tiny houses. That is our “Homemade Village”.

Homemade Village is composed of three main elements:
- Homemade Stay
- Homemade College
- Homemade Homes
We will describe our accommodation services in the "Homemade Stay” section. Please find information on “Homemade College” and “Homes” below.
A place for learning about and practicing tiny houses. We host a wide range of activities here, from workshops to seminars.
From building a tiny house from scratch with a large group (about once every five years),
To unearthing hints for independent lifestyles from old books (Guest: Mr. Ozaki from Catalog & Books),
And learning about small vegetable gardens. We intend to continue to host events and workshops in the future, as the opportunities arise.
We also hold study sessions for achieving a comfortable lifestyle through tiny houses.
We believe that a culture that draws our attention to the “things” that are immediately around us and allows us to select for those that we truly need, and/or that make us happy (the “tiny house movement"), has a role to play in the world we live in today.
This is the studio of the operation staff of Homemade Village, the group of “secret hideout”-building artists known as "TREEHEADS."
Here, we work with you to imagine, thoughtfully plan out, and carefully manufacture your ideal tiny house. For reference, you can see some of our work below:
CAMILOTA @ Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture
BEER BRAIN @ Shibuya Ward, Tokyo
KURKKU FIELDS @ Kisarazu City, Chiba PrefectureUntil now, we put our customers’ ideas into form with completely custom-made productions. However, as that route has inevitably driven up the price point, we now also have a lineup of bespoke tiny houses with room for freedom in customization.
At "Homemade Homes," you can choose from several options for the width, length, roof shape, material, and other details for your tiny house. We provide an opportunity to actually try living under each of the four tiny house roof shapes through the "Homemade Stay" accommodation experience.
An experiential accommodation facility where you can experience the tiny house lifestyle to the fullest through all five senses.

The accommodation experience area at Homemade Village consists of your tiny house "private space" where you spend the nights and a "communal space", including toilets and showers, gardens and kitchens, and other functions.
A deeper look at the "private spaces":
【Type-A】
The design was influenced by the home of Dee Williams, a pioneer of the tiny house movement whose work was the inspiration for the “HomemadeVillage” project. It features a sleeping loft that juts out over the porch and a steep gable roof, a symbol of the early movement. Perhaps because of the windows and skylights visible at the back of the loft, many users are pleasantly surprised at how spacious the home feels on the inside..
【Type-B】
A tiny house created at the "Tiny House Workshop" held from April to October in 2023. 15 participants from all over the country and 10 staff created it over a period of 7 months, coming together one weekend each month. Constructing the arched roof was a laborious undertaking, but the whole team came together to design the size and position of the windows. There is a table in front of the large window where you can sit with a cup of coffee to enjoy a panoramic view of the garden.【Type-C】
The largest tiny house in the village is simple but designed for function. It is about 50 cm wider than the other three, so you can sleep perpendicular to the long side of the house, making for a more efficient use of space. From the mini kitchen you have a view of the stone garden, where you can harvest herbs to enjoy an herbal tea.A look at the shared space in the village:
【Common House】
The common house is shared by all village users. It has a kitchen, dining room, lounge, workspace, toilet, and a wood stove, making for a leisurely experience.
【Community Garden】
The garden brings the seasons and their harvests into our day-to-day-life, with herbs and vegetables, a small pond, a compost shed, and a greenhouse. Here we also offer programmed experiences such as cultivating and harvesting the crops and preparing meals from them.【Bathroom + Corner Shop】
The men’s and women’s bathroom each house two shower booths and one toilet. There is a corner shop in the greenhouse in front of the bathrooms, and you can use the space to eat or drink anything you purchase or, if the weather is bad, just spend time staying dry on a rainy day.Homemade Village is an experiment that hopes to someday leave this nest and create a real life tiny house village for people to live in.
We would like to make it a rallying point where like-minded people who dream of living a sized-down lifestyle co-existent with nature can come together over time and carry their learnings here forward into their future lives.
We welcome you to stop by and experience the essence of tiny houses and tiny house living for yourself.
