We welcome guests staying at NIPPONIA Miyama Tsurugaoka Mountain Village as villagers for a day in the Miyama-cho Tsurugaoka area.
We have prepared a variety of experience menus for you to experience the ultimate blend of country life during your stay.
Yuzu Jam (making jam using seasonal ingredients)
Straw crafting (instructed by a master craftsman who makes the large New Year's sacred ropes for the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine)
Kintsugi
There are more than 20 types of ezperiences, such as food culture experiences that make use of local ingredients (blueberry jam, yuzu jam, mackerel sushi, tochimochi, miso, konnyaku, etc.), farming experiences (rice planting, weeding, rice harvesting, vegetable harvesting, thatching), and traditional crafts (straw craft, kintsugi, crafts using silk thread and string from Nishijin, Kyoto). We are sorry that we are unable to write a full menu.
As the menu is too many to list, our concierge will prepare a tailor-made experience plan based on your individual consultation.

Dinner: A special and luxurious dinner at a famous local restaurant.
Please note that you may not be able to select a restaurant from among our four partner restaurants in Tsurugaoka area, as we will select one that can accommodate you on the day of your stay.

Mackerel sushi, a popular menu item at Cuisine Kappo Shintaro ( if your dining place is Shintaro)
Breakfast: A rich breakfast that awakens the body from within and is delicious for the eyes, body, and soul.
Breakfast changes daily. Our staff will prepare it in your room around 8:00 am.
You will not know which restaurant's breakfast will be served until you open it, as it changes daily.

About front desk
Check-In and Check-Out for your trip will be at the front desk of Mura no Eki "Tanasen". (Shinshakado-mae 1, Tsurugaoka, Miyama-cho, Nantan-shi, Kyoto 601-0762) NIPPONIA Miyama-Tsurugaoka Mountain Village is a decentralized accommodation facility. Each guest room has a different address for each building. Check-in and check-out procedures are handled at the front desk of Mura no Eki "Tanasen". ［Check-in 14:00-17:00, Check-out 10:00]
How do you get to the hotel by public transportation (train)?
If you come by public transportation (train), please come to the nearest station, Hiyoshi Station, and take the city bus to Kayabuki-no-sato. If you let us know before you come, we can arrange to pick you up.
Is smoking allowed in the facility?
All buildings are non-smoking on the premises, including the garden. All buildings are non-smoking due to the wooden structure of the renovated old private house. Please understand this in advance.
Is there a restaurant in the facility?
We do not have a restaurant in our facility in order for you to enjoy the variety of food in the area. We will introduce you to restaurants that we have partnered with. We hope you will experience the atmosphere of Tsurugaoka while engaging in conversation at some of the town's beloved restaurants.
How far is the distance to each rooms from the front desk?
Our hotel is a decentralized hotel, and you will be transferred to each room after check-in at the front desk. Our staff will take you to your room guiding you. There is no TV and clock in the room
We do not have a TV in the hotel so that you can enjoy the quiet space of the village, the sounds of nature, and encounters with each other. We appreciate your understanding. +We do have Wi-fi.
Please note that insects may appear.
The area is surrounded by a mountainous countryside rich in nature. Although we take care about cleanness, various insects may enter the property as well. There are also wild animals such as deer and boars nearby. We hope you will consider this as an opportunity to experience the rich natural environment and lifestyle of this place.
Old dust may fall.
Although our cleaning staff puts their heart and soul into keeping the rooms clean for the comfort of our guests, dust may fall from the ceiling as the house is over 130 years old.
