Olectronica is a two-person art unit that creates works in an atelier set inside the former gymnasium of an old elementary school in Asaji, Bungoono City.
On the first floor of our property, in HAJIMARI LOUNGE, we display artworks made from materials that once shaped the space before renovation—works that carry forward the memory of what was here. In this room, however, Olectronica has infused the space with a new “light,” transforming the post-demolition emptiness into something entirely different.
Even the work desk is one of their pieces. Why not spend a special moment surrounded by Olectronica’s artworks, which are wrapped in a quiet, serene atmosphere?

At HAJIMARI Beppu, we do not provide disposable amenities in order to reduce environmental impact (e.g., toothbrushes, combs, shower caps, razors, etc.). For loungewear (pajamas are acceptable), we offer “Kiru Gauze” as a paid rental service (JPY 500 per set). We do not change linens during your stay. For guests staying 7 nights or more, we will provide spare linens. Please replace the linens yourself. 【Stays with Children】
Children under 7 years old may stay free of charge when sharing a bed with a parent/guardian. Children sharing a bed are not counted toward the room occupancy limit.
【Important Notes When Staying with Children】
HAJIMARI Beppu is a renovated space within a 46-year-old former liquor wholesale warehouse building. Due to the existing structure, it is not specifically designed for children. There are areas that may be unsafe for young children, such as steps and stairways. If you are staying with children, please ensure that a parent/guardian supervises them at all times. Also, please enjoy the artworks by artists and creators without touching them.

We can store your luggage before check-in and after check-out during staffed hours.(9:00–18:00)
【Early Morning Departure】
Early morning departure is possible. Please complete the check-out procedure using the tablet at the HAJIMARI DESK on the 1st floor.
【Check-in Time】
Check-in is available from 15:00 to 18:00. As we use a self check-in system, check-in after 18:00 is also possible. However, you will need your electronic key code to enter the building after 18:00, so please call us by 17:30 in advance. Please note that early check-in before 15:00 is generally not available. If you arrive early, we would appreciate it if you could wait until 15:00.
【Staffed Hours】
Our staff is not on-site from 18:00 to 9:00 the next morning. Please note that during your stay, we will communicate via Google Chat on the iPad in your room.
【Recommendations Around HAJIMARI Beppu】
In your room, you will find our original guide booklet. It is also available for purchase in the 1st-floor lounge. It includes a variety of content such as interview articles—please feel free to take a look. From 9:00 to 17:00, our staff at the HAJIMARI DESK can assist you with local recommendations.
