Plan Details

This is a room-only plan (no meals provided).

While there are several restaurants in town, many close early or have irregular hours, and there are no convenience stores within walking distance. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, snacks, or drinks to enjoy in their room after a relaxing soak in Tawaraya Onsen.

For dining options in town, please check the official website below.(Please note: restaurant hours and availability may change. We recommend confirming directly with each restaurant.)

Bathing: Unlimited Access with “Nyuyoku Tegata” (Bath Pass)

All guests receive a complimentary bath pass (“Nyuyoku Tegata”), which allows unlimited entry to the town’s two public bathhouses from check-in until noon the following day.

At Tawaraya Onsen, “the baths are not inside the inn, but within the town”. This is the traditional soto-yu (public bath) culture that has been preserved here.

The Two Public Baths

1.Hakuen-no-Yu(The Bath of the White Monkey)

Drawing mainly from the “Kawa-no-Yu” hot spring source, Hakuen-no-Yu is renowned for its highly alkaline water (pH 9.9), one of the highest levels in Japan.

The Bath 1 (‘Ichigō-yu’) features pure, undiluted hot spring water that flows directly from the Kawa-no-Yu spring. The Bath 2 (‘Nigō-yu’) and the open-air bath use a blend of five different sources from Tawaraya Onsen, offering a rich variety of bathing experiences. The baths and washing areas are spacious and comfortable, and bath 2 (‘Nigō-yu’) is equipped with micro-nano bubble technology for a gentle and soothing soak.

The facility was renovated in 1993 and remains lively, with many visitors arriving from early morning until night. Family baths using the “Sho-no-Yu” spring are also available with a reservation. On the second floor, a free lounge is available for guests to relax.
