Nestled deep in the countryside,
Kokorakara is a renovated traditional Japanese farmhouse where we
offer mindful meals and a slow, seasonal lifestyle.
This is a place embraced by clean air and the gentle rustle of trees,
in Ikeda Town, Fukui Prefecture—a small farming village almost completely surrounded by forest.
Foraging wild greens, planting and harvesting rice, pounding mochi, shoveling snow…
Here, food is grown, cooked, and shared in rhythm with the seasons.
We’ve inherited a home where this way of life once thrived,
and after a long (and slightly clumsy!) DIYrenovation,
we opened a small café and guesthouse.

We cook your meal of the day using ingredients from the surrounding satoyama.
In this light-filled house where the wind flows gently through the trees,

Non smoking in the facility
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the facility, including guest rooms and common areas. Please refrain from smoking on the street as well. We would appreciate it if you would smoke in your car or other designated areas
About using the kitchen
As our accommodation also operates as a cafe, guests are not allowed to use the kitchen due to the Food Sanitation Act.
Regarding bathing
We ask that you use the nearby hot spring, Kanmuriso, for your bath. The water quality is excellent, so we highly recommend you try it. There is a shared bathroom, but it is a small, domestic bath that is also used by staff. If you would like to use it, please let us know when you make your reservation.
