Staying in a Century-Old Traditional House

TRAVEL STOP UNNOWA is housed in carefully preserved traditional buildings that are nearly 100 years old.

While they may not offer every modern convenience found in a contemporary hotel, they retain the character, atmosphere, and traces of everyday life from an earlier time.

Due to the nature of the traditional wooden buildings, maintaining a consistent indoor temperature may be difficult depending on the season and weather.

In winter especially, the buildings can take time to warm up as they are more affected by the outdoor temperature.

Sound travels easily through the wooden buildings, so you may occasionally hear footsteps or voices from other guests.

As the property is surrounded by nature, insects may occasionally find their way indoors.

We hope you will see these characteristics as part of the authentic experience of life in Unno-juku, shaped by this place and its buildings over many generations.

【Stays with Children】

Children aged 0-2 generally share an existing bed with an accompanying adult. Separate bedding is not provided.

【Accommodation Tax】

Nagano Prefecture will introduce an accommodation tax for stays beginning on or after June 1, 2026.

Guests who meet the applicable conditions will be required to pay this tax separately. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Tax Amount: ¥200 per person, per night, regardless of age

Applicable Stays: When the accommodation rate is ¥6,000 or more per person, per night

Payment: Please pay the accommodation tax at the front desk upon check-in.
