Which types of families is this accommodation suitable for?
Iori Family Villa Dogo Yunomachi has been specifically designed with families travelling with infants and toddlers (aged 0–3) in mind. The space features traditional tatami flooring, cushioned surfaces, and a layout that minimises potential hazards, making it ideal for crawling babies and toddlers finding their feet. We also provide an extensive range of baby equipment, so families feeling anxious about their first trip with a little one can stay with total peace of mind.
Is the property a private holiday let?
No, the property consists of two separate guest suites within a single building. Each suite functions as an independent apartment, designed to offer families a relaxing and spacious environment. Unlike a conventional hotel, the charm of our villa lies in its "home-from-home" atmosphere, allowing you to live like a local during your stay.
How does it differ from a standard hotel or ryokan?
The primary difference is that every detail is tailored for stays with children aged 0–3. From the tatami areas and easy-to-supervise layout to the abundance of childcare essentials, we have created an environment where parents can truly relax. Rather than just being "child-friendly," the villa was built from the ground up to make life easier for families with young children.
Do you provide meals?
We do not provide catering or meal services. Instead, we focus on providing a flexible stay where families can enjoy meals at their own pace without any fuss. You are perfectly placed to explore the local Dogo area, enjoy nearby restaurants, or bring back a takeaway. Each suite also features a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare meals for your family as needed.
Is it suitable for longer stays?
Yes, absolutely. The spacious layout allows families to maintain their usual daily routines, making it very comfortable for multi-night stays. It is an ideal choice for families who prefer a slower pace, balancing sightseeing with relaxing time back at the villa.
What is the maximum occupancy?
Each suite can accommodate up to six guests, including children. If your group is larger than six, please contact us directly, as we may be able to accommodate you depending on the number of children in your party.
Is there a cleaning service or towel change during long stays?
As a general rule, we do not provide daily cleaning during your stay. However, if you are planning a longer visit, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. Each suite is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer, ensuring a comfortable stay even for extended periods.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, we provide free high-speed Wi-Fi. It is perfectly suited for remote working (workations) or streaming videos comfortably.
Is it safe to stay with very young children?
Yes, the interior is specifically designed for stays with infants. In addition to the tatami flooring (which is lovely for bare feet), we have paid close attention to padding sharp corners and hard surfaces. The layout ensures that parents can keep an eye on their children easily. We strive to create an environment where you can feel as relaxed as you would at home—perhaps even more so!
Do you provide baby equipment?
Yes. To save you from overpacking, we provide a wide range of essentials for young children. For a one- or two-night stay, we aim to provide almost everything your baby might need, allowing you to travel light. Please check [here] for a detailed list of available items.
Is it okay if my child cries or runs around?
Since our villa is designed specifically for families with small children, the environment is much more accommodating than a typical hotel or ryokan. You can relax at your own family’s pace. However, as there is one other guest suite in the building, we kindly ask for your consideration regarding noise levels during the night.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have a dedicated parking space directly in front of the villa (one space per suite).
Is the location convenient for sightseeing in Dogo Onsen?
Very much so. The villa is perfectly situated for exploring the Dogo area and serves as an excellent base for local sightseeing. Both the Dogo Onsen Honkan and the Dogo Shopping Arcade are just a two-minute walk away. It is the perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the sights while still having a private family sanctuary to return to.
How do check-in and check-out work?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm, and check-out is by 10:00 am. After your booking is confirmed, we will send you details on how to check in (including entry codes and procedures). This allows for a smooth, contactless entry, so you don't need to worry if you arrive later than planned.
