As a lifestyle fitting room
We like to think of our hotel as a fitting room for lifestyles.
Admittedly, it might not feel much like a typical hotel. We’ve gone out of our way to feature display shelves, and every single room is lined with a record player and a selection of books. What’s more, each of our ten rooms has its own name and a subtly unique styling.
Every guest room at someone, is crafted with meticulous care, infusing thoughtful details with our own vision of what makes life rich and beautiful.

To set the mood, every room comes equipped with an Audio-Technica turntable, alongside a curated vinyl collection handpicked by Kyoto's own record shop, Pinks Vinyl.
Best of all, most of what you see at someone, kyoto is yours to take home—for a price, of course. The catalogue in your room details the craftsmanship and care behind each item, allowing you to seamlessly transplant a piece of this experience into your own daily life.

Finding Charm in the Unnamed
Style in Kyoto is all about having an "eye." We find far more allure in the ability to spot a diamond in the rough on a flea market tarp than in simply draping oneself in luxury labels.
At someone,, we cherish this art of finding beauty in the unnamed. Our interiors aren't bound by labels like "mid-century" or "modern." Instead, we layer pieces we genuinely love to create an atmosphere uniquely Kyoto, and uniquely someone,. After all, isn't that how putting a room together is supposed to feel?
For our visual identity, we teamed up with designer Ikki Kobayashi, who shapes graphic design from everyday gestures. The interior and fixture design was handled by monoya, a design studio in Kyoto that also runs an antique shop.
The motifs giving each room its distinct personality were made by hand, cutting origami sheets with scissors, while the logo font was chosen from countless hand-drawn trials. Each piece of furniture was crafted with stubborn attention to detail, refined through actual prototypes until perfected. As for the small antique curiosities dotting the rooms? Our staff handpicked those, scouting local flea markets and antique shops with their own eyes.

Stay at/as someone,
Slide into someone else’s daily life—so close yet so far, right there yet just out of reach. Experience Kyoto as if you’ve lived here all along. Your room is ready, and we're waiting for you.
