Here in the Tamba region, where Kameoka is located, a deep and mystical phenomenon known as the "Tamba fog" rolls in during the early mornings from autumn to spring. Long ago, our ancestors looked upon the breathtaking sight of this fog glowing crimson in the morning sun and named it "Ni-no-Umi"—the Sea of Crimson.
"Hanare Ninoumi" opened in October 2018. Taking its name from the beautiful local scenery, this unique inn offers a traditional Japanese historic house for rent as a fully private villa.
An accommodation facility renovated by Kameoka City from a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house located in the former Tamba Kameyama castle town, whose foundations were laid by Akechi Mitsuhide.
It features three distinct virra named after historic Kameoka local figures: ”OKYO”” BAIGAN”” RYOI”. Here, you can immerse yourself in a peaceful and relaxing historic stay.
The facility was supervised by Alex Kerr, a leading expert in old folk house restoration with a deep understanding of traditional Japanese beauty.
