Everyone has their own preferred way of traveling. For me, nothing beats the comfort and coziness of a vacation rental where I can fully immerse myself in the surrounding nature. Whether I'm traveling with my family or as a couple, staying in a vacation rental has always been my top choice.

The HUT is the perfect embodiment of my ideal travel style - cozy and comfortable, nestled amidst nature. I love taking it slow in the mornings, enjoying a simple breakfast of toast or cereal before heading out for a walk to soak up the local scenery. Lunchtime calls for trying out some of the delicious local specialties on-the-go, and evenings are reserved for shopping before returning to the cottage to whip up a home-cooked meal. And when the mood strikes, we venture out to dine at some of the amazing local restaurants



Having the flexibility to tailor your travel experience is crucial.

When I used to travel with my kids, having a kitchen was a non-negotiable. It allowed us to have home-cooked meals and not rely solely on eating out every day. Plus, after a long day of exploring, sometimes it's nice to just stay in and relax.　I'm also a big fan of exploring by foot, but that doesn't mean I want to tire myself out with constantly searching for a place to eat. That's why having a kitchen and nearby market is important to me. And let's not forget about a separate toilet and bath! That's a must-have for me as well.

If a rental car is available, I'll take advantage of it. It just gives me more freedom to explore. As I continue to travel, my preferences and styles keep evolving. It's an ongoing journey and I'm excited to see where it takes me next.



Experience the Hakuba village like a local by exploring it in a small 4WD N-Van.

This compact vehicle allows you to navigate through the narrow roads and alleys with ease, giving you access to hidden gems and breathtaking views.

Take a short trip to see the famous snow monkeys in Jigokudani or visit local highlights like Matsumoto Castle, Zenkoji Temple, Obuse Village, and Kurobe Dam.

During ski season, you can hit the slopes without waiting for the bus and enjoy hot springs without your hair freezing on the way back. And with a BBQ, you can skip the cooking and savor the delicious taste of freshly grilled food.

At first glance, the small Canadian cedar house seemed old and worn-out, covered in moss and decaying deck. But my husband and I took on the challenge of renovating it and turned it into our dream vacation rental. We designed it exactly as we wanted, adding our personal touch to create a cozy and comfortable space.


At the HUT, we believe that nature is an essential part of any vacation experience. That's why we've made sure to preserve the beautiful forest in our garden, providing a unique opportunity for guests to connect with local wildlife and nature.
