A detached Machiya at the back of an alley.
It is the largest Machiya in the house of Kidera no ie.
There are two Japanese-style rooms, a kitchen, an entrance, and four rooms, each of which is partitioned by fittings.
Open and close as needed.
You can enjoy changing the atmosphere of the room.
The bath in the Engawa no Machiya is the only traditional ”Goemon bath” in Kidera no ie.
You can relax and enjoy the view of the garden.
An orange tree that is particularly eye-catching in the courtyard.
It was planted in this garden even before it was restored to the inn.
Even now and in the past, it continues to watch over the days that are run in this Machiya.
The Engawa no Machiya was designated as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan in 2016.
Please enjoy the old-fashioned Machiya life.
