The sea, sky, sunset, mountains, stones, wind, and scents bask in a gentle light.

The sound of fish jumping at dusk, shells and starfish washing ashore at your feet, the ever-changing scenery of the fields.

Standing before the ocean, you are brought to a welcoming sense of insignificance, and find yourself melting into the ever-changing scenery.

This is the experience at TORIKKA STAY.

A former beach house, scheduled for demolition

Shin-Goshikihama beach, where TORIKKA is located, was closed in 2020 due to the global pandemic. This building, which was originally used as a beach house, was also scheduled for demolition.

Local residents fond of the view approached us, asking if there was any way to preserve the building. This led to the first floor being transformed into TORIKKA TABLE, a restaurant to enjoy ingredients from Awaji Island, and the second floor became TORIKKA STAY, a villa with nothing but ocean views.

A private space overlooking nothing but the ocean

Outside the windows of TORIKKA STAY, the Seto Inland Sea stretches out in front of you.Through the large 16-meter-wide window, you see nothing but the sea, and on clear days, you can even spot Shodoshima Island beyond the horizon.

When the tide comes in, you feel as if you are being rocked on a large ship.

You are greeted with a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea from the bath. On clear days, the water in the tub reflects the sky, creating a scene that becomes one with the sea.

In winter, enjoy a warm and peaceful time by the fireplace.

Private dining plan, to enjoy ingredients from the island.

With this plan, you can enjoy a private dining experience prepared by the chef of TORIKKA TABLE on the 1st floor.

Gather around the large dining table — a single slab of wood over 3-meters long — placed in the middle of the living room. Enjoy the island’s cuisine with loved ones at this special place far away from home.

The menu shown here is an example.Starting with a special Awaji Island onion potage, enjoy a private dinner using seafood caught at the neighboring Torikai fishing port and fresh island vegetables.

You can also enjoy a BBQ on the outdoor terrace, or you can bring your own ingredients to cook in the kitchen.

BBQ on the terrace is only available from April to October. Please select the “Island Ingredients BBQ” plan.

For breakfast, we offer bread baked from the wood-fired oven at TORIKKA TABLE on the first floor, along with homemade jam, fruit, Awaji Island yogurt, and more.

After breakfast, please feel free to relax until the 11:00 am check-out.

A sauna that blends into the scenery

How about warming yourself to the core in a sauna while gazing out at the vast horizon?

You can enjoy a self-loyly experience with a wood-burning stove from a Finnish manufacturer, the home of saunas, and plenty of sauna stones.

If you would like to use the sauna, please go to the booking page and select it from the options. As this is an outdoor sauna, please bring and wear swimwear during your usage.

After the sauna, enjoy an open-air-bathe with the sea breeze while looking over the Seto Inland Sea.

With your dog

You can stay with your dog, up to two small or medium-sized dogs of over one years old. For more details, please refer to the "Staying with Your Dog" section at the bottom of the page.

BBQ using ingredients from Awaji Island (limited between March to October)

How about having a BBQ dinner using ingredients from Awaji Island in the summer?We will provide both ingredients and BBQ equipment, so you can come without any additional equipment.

Seasonal Yellowtail "Shabu-Shabu" Plan (limited between November to February)

How about trying seasonal yellowtail "Shabu-shabu" in the winter? We have a set that allows you to enjoy everything from shabu-shabu in a warm pot to “Ochazuke” at the end of the meal.

Awaji Island 3-year Tiger Pufferfish Plan (limited between November to January)

This plan allows you to enjoy the winter delicacy of Awaji Island, "three-year-old tiger pufferfish" farmed in Fukura Bay, Minami Awaji City. We offer a total of six dishes that you can enjoy with TORIKKA's unique arrangement, centered around a hot pot that allows you to fully enjoy the quality of the tiger pufferfish ingredients.

Enjoy a time of separation, where you feel your senses opening up, blending into the scenery, at TORIKKA STAY.

Kobe Sannomiya Bus Terminal (bound for Nishiura Goshiki/Takadaya Park) → "Goshiki Bus Center" (approximately 1.5 hours), then [Awaji Transportation: Island bus] "Goshiki Bus Center" → "Takahashi" (approximately 15 minutes) and get off at the bus stop, then walk for 5 minutes.

*There are 5 buses departing from Goshiki Bus Center per day. (8:50, 11:45, 14:15, 16:55, 19:45)

*Taxis are also available from Goshiki Bus Center. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes. If you would like to use a taxi, please call Sumoto Kanko Taxi (0799-24-5151) to make a reservation in advance.

＜About accommodation for children ages 6 and under＞

Up to two children under the age of 6 can share a bed with their parents for free, and the third child will be charged 5,000 yen per child. This fee is not included in the amount displayed on the screen when you make a reservation request. After you make a request, we will contact you about the additional payment amount.

＜About dog accommodation＞

You can stay with your dog over 1 year old. (Up to 2 small to medium sized dogs)

The area where your dog can stay is only inside the cage (approximately 4 square meters) in the living room. Please note that your dog cannot enter the bedroom even when you are sleeping. TORIKKA STAY provides cages, food bowls, and pet sheets. Please bring any other necessary items.

・Please bring a rabies and mixed vaccination certificate (within one year). (Please consult us if you have a veterinarian's instructions due to age or allergies.) We may check this information.

・Only dogs that have a basic level of training (potty training, no barking, no biting, etc.) can stay.

・Please complete excretion, brushing, hair removal, etc. before entering the room.

・Please refrain from entering the bedroom or bathroom with your dog, even if you are holding it.

・Dogs cannot be bathed. Please refrain from washing your dog's clothes, etc.

- Please do not leave your dog at home alone when going out.

- If you take your dog for a walk in the surrounding area, please be sure to dispose of its excrement.
