About Akiu
The Akiu area is located about a 40-minute drive from the center of Sendai City.
In the vicinity of the inn, there is the "Akiu Shrine" where the god of victory is enshrined, the "Akiu Otaki" where the autumn leaves are beautiful, and the restaurants where lunch is delicious, making it an ideal base for sightseeing in Akiu.
About the sauna
The sauna at Sauna Cottage Akiu is a Finnish style sauna.
Dry saunas, which are often found in Japan, generally have a temperature of 100°C, but Finnish saunas are about 80℃, which is not too hot. The humidity is about 15%~30%. It has a temperature and humidity environment that is easy to enter even for those who are not good at heat.
The feature of the Finnish sauna is that you can enjoy the "Roulu", which is a steam bath by pouring water on a heated sauna stone. By increasing the humidity due to the low flow, the conductivity of heat increases, and the body slowly warms from the core.

●The facility is generally unmanned.
When the check-in date approaches, you will receive an email with instructions on how to enter the room.
*Early check-in and late check-out are not available due to cleaning management.
●There is free parking space on the premises, and up to 3 cars can be parked.
●Please refrain from smoking inside the building. If you smoke on the premises, please bring a portable ashtray.
●Wi-Fi is available, so please use it.
●If you are staying for consecutive nights, there will be no cleaning during your stay.
●One bath towel and one face towel will be provided for each person during your stay. *No additional towels will be provided even if you are staying for consecutive nights.
●Please be mindful of noise as the neighborhood is a residential area. In addition, please refrain from loud conversations and eating and drinking outside after 8:00 p.m.
●There are no BBQ facilities provided. You are welcome to bring your own.
Please use the gravel space in front of the wooden deck. Please take home any charcoal or ashes that are produced during use and do not leave them in the garden.
●Pets are not allowed.
●The fireplace can be used from November to March.
●This facility has structures such as a loft, fireplace, and steps that are not kid-friendly. Parents are asked to keep a close eye on their children during their stay.
