Time that is all your own away from the bustle of the city
Shirafuji was designated as a nationally registered cultural property in 2003.
In the late Meiji period, Dr. Maruta, a physician, and his family took over the estate and made the Japanese-style building their residence and the estern-style annex is what remains from the clinic that he built at that time.
It is an extremely unique estate featuring both a traditional Japanese-style residence and Western-style building on the same premises with access to each from the garden in the middle of the estate.
This plan gives guests exclusive use of the Western-style annex at Shirafuji.
Western-style building
There are two bedrooms
There is one king-sized bed and one queen-sized bed.
Based on our guest's wishes, the king-sized bed can be changed out for two single beds.
Built in the late-Meiji period when Suzaka prospered with the silk industry ,
this Western-style annex displays the intricate skills of the craftsmen at the time.
The detailed and careful design and the intricate plaster work in the ceilings, different in each room, is evidence of the skilled craftsmen who lived in Suzaka at the time.
Kitchen
The kitchen available for your use is equipped with kitchen utensils allowing you to prepare simple meals.
Cook with local ingredients in the provided kitchen.
If you so desire, in the bathroom you can enjoy a sake lees bath using sake lees from local Suzaka sake brewery, Endo Shuzo (additional charge).
The provided towels and pajamas are soft to the touch.
Please enjoy time that is all your own to your heart's content away from the everyday frenzy here at Shirafuji.

Is smoking permitted on the property?
No. Shirafuji is a completely non-smoking property.
Is there an onsen at the property?
Shirafuji does not have a natural hot spring. However, both the Main House and Western-style House have private bathrooms where you can enjoy a sake lees bath made with sake lees from the local Endo Brewery.(Optional Services Available for an Additional Fee)
Can I stay with my pet?
We sincerely apologize, but pets are not permitted at Shirafuji. As Shirafuji is a nationally registered Tangible Cultural Property, the owner of the property, Suzaka City, requires us to prohibit pets other than certified guide dogs. There is a pet hotel nearby, and we would be happy to provide further information upon request.
May I invite friends or family members who are not staying at Shirafuji?
If you would like to invite non-staying guests, such as friends or family members, to dine or spend time with you at Shirafuji, please contact us in advance. For security and property-management reasons, visitors who are not included in the reservation are not permitted to enter the property without prior approval.
Staying with young children
Children of all ages, including infants, are welcome to stay at Shirafuji. If you choose a plan that includes meals, we would be happy to discuss suitable meal arrangements for your child. Please note that we do not provide baby cots, but you are welcome to bring your own. If you require a Japanese futon for your child, please contact us in advance.
