1日1組限定 一棟貸の宿
Glass sliding doors preserved from the original home,
built in the early Showa period, remain in place —
their gently wavering texture adding quiet character to the space.
An original noren curtain has been paired with these doors,
softly marking the transition inside.

Passing through the noren, you enter the kitchen and living–dining area.
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric kettle,
and a compact refrigerator.
Please note that there is no stove so cooking is not available.
Plates, mugs, and glasses are provided
and can be found neatly stored in the drawers.
The living–dining area features solid oak flooring
and walls finished in traditional Japanese plaster,
known for its natural ability to regulate humidity.
A table made from solid oak is paired with steel legs
finished in matte black.
Simple in design,
the space has been carefully crafted
with both beauty and functionality in mind.

Soft daylight filters in through the skylight,
making it an inviting place to settle into the sofa
and enjoy an unhurried moment with a book.
Displayed within the room is an artwork made from antique textiles
in shades of asagi,
the soft blue that gave asagiya its name.
Hemp, cotton, and silk are layered together,
each material carrying its own subtle tone of asagi.
This traditional Japanese color has gently evolved over time,
shifting slightly from era to era —
a quiet expression of history woven into fabric.
A spacious bathroom and a tatami-floored sleeping area
offer a calm, restorative retreat.
Set beyond the living space,
the bathroom looks out onto a small inner courtyard.
Soak in the bath, forget the time and enjoy a deeply relaxing moment.
Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided.
At the vanity, you’ll also find bath towels a hair dryer, and toothbrushes.
Climb the stairs beside the kitchen to reach a tatami room and balcony.
From the balcony, you can see the shrine across the way,
where subtle changes in the seasons can be quietly observed.

At night, futons are laid out in the tatami room for sleeping.
Our futons are custom-made and are one of asagiya’s proud details.
Thick and generously cushioned,
they offer comfort comparable to hotel-quality bedding,
providing proper support for the body and a restful night’s sleep.
Gently easing the fatigue of travel,
they allow you to wake refreshed and ready for a new day in Takayama.
