Obakusan Manpukuji: Temple in Uji, Kyoto, was founded in 1661 by the Chinese Zen master Ingen Ryuki. For 360 years, the monks of this temple have practiced strict "Zen" asceticism. The practice is a true self-discovery through the repetition of Zen questions and answers through zazen, samu, meals, and tea ceremonies. We invite you to experience the Zen practice that the monks have inherited and preserved here for many years and to realize your true self.

1. Walk in the precincts of the temple 11:00-12:00
Overview of Őbakuzan Manpukuji Temple. Mampukuji Temple is a Ming Dynasty Chinese-style temple. Visitors are invited to purchase an audio guide to deepen their understanding of the temple and Buddhist statues that remain today as they were when the temple was first built.

3. Obaku Baisa ryu Sencha tea ceremony 12:00~13:30
Tea ceremony experience Obakusan Manpukuji Temple is said to be the origin of Japanese Sencha tea ceremony. A master of Obaku Baicha school will make tea and let you drink it.
3. Lunch : Fucha ryori meal(vegan meal) 13:30~14:00
Fucha-ryori(Lunch) is a vegetarian cuisine introduced from China by Zen Master Ingen, the founder of Maupukuji temple. It is a gentle cooking course prepared with vegetables.

4. Finish
The experience finishes after Fucha meal.
