Gluten-free and vegan hospitality were not added as optional services. They are the starting point for every decision — from the kitchen and breakfast to cakes, drinks and amenities.
Four rooms. One intimate Kyoto home.
We chose not to make this house larger than it wished to be. Its scale, depth and quietness remain. This is not a stay in which you disappear among hundreds of guests — it is closer to having another home in Kyoto.
Every room features a hinoki bath crafted from premium Japanese cypress sourced from Nagano Prefecture.
Immerse yourself in the gentle aroma of hinoki and enjoy a peaceful moment of relaxation, allowing both body and mind to unwind.

At UNO RETREAT Kyoto, everything prepared for the guest follows one quiet standard.
The dishes we serve, the food and drinks waiting in the in-room refrigerator, and the amenities placed beside the bath are all selected through the same gluten-free and vegan philosophy.
Nothing is treated as an exception. Every detail belongs to the stay.

■ Important: Maintaining Our Gluten-Free Environment
To ensure that all guests can enjoy a safe and comfortable stay, our property maintains a gluten-free environment. For this reason, bringing gluten-containing food or beverages into the property or consuming them on-site is not permitted. If gluten-containing food or beverages are brought into the property or consumed, and additional cleaning or special measures are required, an additional cleaning fee may be charged. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all guests.
Kyoto City Accommodation Tax
In accordance with Kyoto City regulations, an accommodation tax is charged separately from your accommodation fee. The accommodation tax is not included in your reservation price. Please pay the tax in cash at check-in. The accommodation tax is calculated per person per night based on the accommodation fee as follows: ・Less than ¥6,000: ¥200 ・¥6,000 to less than ¥20,000: ¥400 ・¥20,000 to less than ¥50,000: ¥1,000 ・¥50,000 to less than ¥100,000: ¥4,000 ・¥100,000 or more: ¥10,000 ※The accommodation fee used for calculation excludes meal charges, consumption tax, and other applicable fees. Guests Arriving After 5:00 PM
At our hotel, we maintain a gluten-free environment to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for all guests. For this reason, bringing gluten-containing food or beverages into the hotel, or consuming them anywhere within the property, is not permitted. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment where all guests can enjoy their stay with peace of mind.
About Our Machiya Building
Due to the nature of traditional machiya architecture, you may notice everyday sounds such as floorboards and sliding doors. The building is equipped with heating and underfloor heating; however, indoor temperatures may vary depending on the season and outside weather conditions. After 9:00 PM, we kindly ask for your consideration toward other guests and the neighborhood.

・Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the property, and the use of open flames is not allowed. ・Entry by anyone other than registered guests is not permitted. ・Please note that we cannot be held responsible for accidents, injuries, or damages caused by natural disasters, surrounding environmental conditions, or guests’ negligence.
