Kachi-tei is located about 20 minutes by bus from Zushi Station, and a 3-minute walk from the “Kyuyakuba-mae” bus stop.

As you slowly climb the quiet slope and stone steps, the residence quietly appears beyond the trees.

This is not the Hayama for busy beach days,but a quieter Hayama, where time moves more gently.

Even now, the architecture designed by Arata Endo still holds a calm and unhurried atmosphere.

In 1928, Toshio Kaji, an executive of Mitsui Bussan, chose this hillside as the site for his private villa and commissioned architect Arata Endo to design it.

Arata Endo studied under Frank Lloyd Wright and also worked on the design of the former Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

While deeply influenced by Western architecture, Endo created buildings that embraced the Japanese climate, landscape, and way of living.

At Kachi-tei, the texture of Oya stone, the soft natural light, and the lines of sight extending toward the garden create a space that feels both open and deeply calming.

After check-in, you are invited to spend the hours before dinner however you wish.

Read quietly in the sunroom,or simply sit on the sofa and look out over the garden.

Without doing anything special,just being surrounded by stillness slowly begins to ease the mind.

For dinner, we offer local Hayama delicacies through delivery services or private chef experiences.

The following morning, you may also enjoy a Western-style breakfast prepared by Mikity from the beloved Hayama café “Funny Honey.”Breakfast will be personally delivered to your room by the house manager.
