ORANDO no Nikai
HIROSAKI-SHI・AOMORI
A base for sightseeing in Hirosaki. An inn that connects travelers and the community, starting with an apple box

"Orando" means "we" in Tsugaru (west side of Aomori) dialect

Hirosaki, it is rich in nature and culture, and the people are a bit shy but charming. Although Hirosaki has a nostalgic atmosphere, it is also a city where you can discover something new every time you visit.

Hyakkoku-machi, where "ORANDO no Nikai(ORANDO's second floor)" is located, is a 15-minute walk from Hirosaki Station and a 10-minute walk from Hirosaki Castle, and is an area where you can enjoy the daily life of Hirosaki. It is said that the town's name originates from the fact that it was once home to a samurai with a net worth of 100 koku or more. From the Taisho era to the Showa era, this historic town was bustling with people, with many shops such as movie theaters, banks, and kimono shops.

HIROSAKI ORANDO is a small complex that opened in 2019 and includes a cafe bar, event space/gallery. Since the guesthouse is on the second floor, we named it ORANDO no Nikai(ORANDO's second floor). We want to be a place where both local people and people visiting from outside can spend time as "our place".

The HIROSAKI ORANDO building was originally built as a kimono shop over 40 years ago.

Conveniently located in the middle of city, within walking distance to major spots.

In addition to mixed dormitory rooms, there are also women-only and Japanese-style dormitory rooms, so you can choose one that suits your style of stay.

Female-only dormitory: bunk bed type

*Japanese-style dorms are separated by lockable sliding doors, but when you book both 2 rooms, you can also use the large one room by open them.

Common areas: shower, toilet, washroom, mini kitchen
There are two showers for unisex, and one for one for women only. The toilets are separate for men and women.

On the first floor, there is cidre & café POMME/MARCHÉ, where you can enjoy domestic and international ciders, as well as food and sweets made with Aomori's seasonal ingredients. At night, it becomes a lounge space for our guests.

Relax in warm and cozy space

Go up the stairs and open the door to reach the guest house floor. The guest rooms include a mixed dormitory, two Japanese-style dormitories that can be used like private rooms, and a female-only dormitory.

The bunk beds in Mixed dormitory are made from recycled apple boxes.

In the Tsugaru area, where Hirosaki is located, harvested apples are shipped in wooden boxes and delivered to shops and homes. Apple boxes, which have played an important role in connecting people through apples, will connect travelers with local communities.

Beds are named related apples. The in-house sign and room key also feature apples and wooden boxes as motifs.

The Japanese-style dormitory offers ample space and is separated by sliding doors with locks, allowing you to have your own private space. The sliding doors can be opened and used as one large room, making it ideal for group accommodation.

The female-only area has a women-only dormitory, shower, and toilet, so even women can feel safe.

We offer skincare items on the dresser.

There has books and manga related Aomori in the common space, so you can relax and read books.

The bookshelves in the cafe space on the first floor are lined with books related to Aomori, as well as books about architecture, town planning, and food.

The mini kitchen has a refrigerator, IH stove, microwave, rice cooker, and tableware.

How to spend time at ORANDO no Nikai

In the morning, have a breakfast at a nearby coffee shop. Hirosaki is a coffee town, which is why there are everything from retro coffee shops to sophisticated cafes.

The cafe on the first floor has power and Wi-Fi, so you can work or plan your trip. At night, you can participate in events and enjoy interacting with locals, or grab a glass of cider before heading out into town. The Kaji-machi and Dote-machi area, which is about a 5-minute walk away, is lined with delicious restaurants such as izakayas, Chinese restaurants, and bistros, so be sure to ask the staff for recommendations.

We irregularly hold events where we invite people who live and work locally as guests as bartenders.

You'll Want to come back again

In this place, both locals and visitors from outside mingle with naturally, and before you know it, you are connected to the city and people of Hirosaki. We would be happy if the second floor of ORANDO becomes your entrance to Hirosaki, a place where you want to come back again and again.
