In the historic shopping street of Atago-cho near Kochi Station, we have created a hotel called "ichi." Within the approximately 300-meter-long shopping street, you'll find butcher shops, cafes, and miscellaneous stores, creating a local townscape where traditional shops coexist with newly opened cafes. During the Yosakoi Festival on August 10th and 11th, the shopping street becomes the stage for a major event, filled with dancers performing on the streets.

What is "Ryoshin-ichi"?

"良心市"的意义

The name "ichi" comes from "Ryoshin-ichi," which means "unmanned selling point." It is a unique naming in Kochi and a symbol of Kochi's landscape. When you drive, you will encounter numerous "Ryoshin-ichi" markets scattered throughout the city, mainly selling agricultural products. The items sold there may be a little uneven, but they are vegetables that have been carefully cultivated, showcasing their individual characteristics in small spaces. Some markets even provide recommended ways to eat or recipes, and each visit offers a chance encounter with different products.
