Keihoku is a major producer of Kitayama logs and cypress.
Therefore, you can see many forest plantations.
In the Forestry Experience Course, you can actually go into the mountains to learn about trees and forestry, and learn about the charm of Kitayama logs and Japanese cypress, which can only be seen and learned about in a production area.
The entire course can be completed in about 3 hours in the morning.
A tour of the warehouse stocked with many trees, including Kitayama logs, is a learning experience for both adults and children, who can see the precious trees and listen to stories about tree planting.
You can actually see trees being cut down. (This may not be possible during certain seasons or at certain times of the year.)
Visitors can actually experience the process of peeling the bark of wood harvested in the mountains.
A process in which mud is rubbed on peeled wood to clearly show the grain on the wood surface. This is a fun experience for adults and children alike.
Return to the workshop space for a workshop using freshly milled wood.
Adults will make chopsticks made of Kitayama cedar. These are one-of-a-kind chopsticks with the wonderful aroma of cedar.
Children can enjoy making wooden toys and other age-appropriate souvenirs.
