[November 7–8] Autumn Farm Retreat Plan

Dig into Autumn. Taste It. Reset.

A Two-Day Autumn Farm Retreat in Nozawa Onsen

Join us on November 7–8, 2026, for our Autumn Farm Retreat — a two-day experience celebrating the nature, food, and seasonal rhythms of Nozawa Onsen.

Harvest sweet potatoes from the fields and gather around a seasonal autumn lunch. Make your own chai from aromatic spices, unwind in the hot springs, and end the day with a wood-fired dinner at mont.

The next morning begins with a traditional Japanese breakfast, followed by a peaceful walk through the village to Yuzawa Shrine. Surrounded by nature, we’ll practice morning yoga and take time to gently reset both body and mind.

The feeling of soil in your hands, the aroma of a wood fire, the warmth of the hot springs, and the crisp autumn morning air — two days to experience autumn in Nozawa Onsen through all five senses.

You are very welcome to join us even if you did not participate in our Spring Farm Retreat.

Day 1 | Harvest and Taste the Flavors of Autumn

  • 10:00 AM — Meet at mont

  • 10:30 AM — Sweet potato harvest

  • 1:00 PM — Autumn lunch in the fields & wood-fire roasted sweet potatoes

  • 2:00 PM — Sorting sweet potatoes & tips on how to store them

  • 3:00 PM — Chai-making workshop with Curry Spice Yamaji

  • 4:00 PM — Nozawa Onsen public baths & free time

  • 6:30 PM — Exclusive wood-fired dinner for retreat guests

After working together in the fields, we’ll gather for a warm seasonal lunch and freshly roasted sweet potatoes cooked over a wood fire. Guests who are interested can also try splitting firewood.

During the chai-making workshop, enjoy the aromas of cinnamon, cardamom, and other spices as you create your own cup of chai, guided by your senses and personal taste.

In the evening, mont will serve a special wood-fired course featuring seasonal autumn ingredients. Surrounded by the sounds, warmth, and aroma of the fire, we’ll bring the first day to a close.

Day 2 | Walk Through the Village and Reset in Nature

  • 7:30 AM — Japanese breakfast

  • 8:30 AM — Walk through Nozawa Onsen & morning yoga in nature

  • 10:00 AM — Reflection & sweet potato gift

  • 11:00 AM — Check-out

After a peaceful walk through the autumn streets of Nozawa Onsen, we’ll arrive at Yuzawa Shrine, where we’ll slow down, breathe deeply, and practice yoga surrounded by nature.

The session is designed to gently stretch and restore the body after the previous day’s activities, leaving both body and mind feeling refreshed.

You’ll take home some of the sweet potatoes we harvested together, as well as a selection of chai spices, so you can continue enjoying a little taste of the retreat at home.
