Temari Inn Yukikai

Okayama, Kurashiki-shi,

Enjoy Okayama's Delicacies in a Round Bento Box

This plan allows you to enjoy dinner served in the comfort of your room.

This plan allows you to enjoy dinner in your room at Temari inn "Yukikai".

A unique round bento box made of Arita porcelain, filled with dishes crafted from seasonal ingredients, will be delivered to your room.

Local dishes from a nearby restaurant are served in a round Arita porcelain bento box.

A charming, rounded jubako.
Each piece is meticulously hand-painted, showcasing the beauty of Arita porcelain.

A three-tiered jubako is prepared, with one box provided per person.

The dishes are specially prepared by "Chisouya Nanohana," a Japanese restaurant in the Bikan Historical District that our staff frequently visit.

The dishes feature seasonal ingredients and local specialties unique to Okayama.

The jubako will be delivered to your room by our staff at 6:30 PM.

After that, we will not enter your room, allowing you to enjoy your dinner time privately.

As for beverages, we recommend exploring the Bikan Historical District to find and purchase your favorite local craft beers or sake.

The inn provides handcrafted glassware, such as Kurashiki glass tumblers and ochoko (sake cups), for your use.

We hope you enjoy your meal while savoring the feel and craftsmanship of the tableware.

■ Menu

The dishes may change depending on the season and availability of ingredients. Below is an example.

First Tier
Seasonal sashimi (or lightly seared), mackerel marinated in nanban sauce, and garnishes.
Fresh fish such as Spanish mackerel and mackerel, typical of Okayama, will be used.

Second Tier
Grilled dishes, roast beef, tempura, and the specialty of Nanohana, "yellow garlic chives rolled omelette."

Third Tier
Okayama's Local Cuisine: "Matsuri Sushi"
It is a type of chirashi sushi made by mixing ingredients into vinegared rice and lavishly topping it with mamakari (Japanese shad), octopus from Shimotsui, shrimp, anago (conger eel) from the Seto Inland Sea, and other delicacies.

The meal, tightly packed into a round three-tiered jubako, is quite hearty and offers a satisfying dining experience.

The dishes are freshly prepared in our shop on the same day and packed, but to prevent spoilage, they are provided in a cooled state.

Accommodation Information

"Temari inn" is a small inn where "things" take center stage.

Tableware, chabudai (low dining table), chairs, lighting, and a Goemon-buro (traditional Japanese bath)...

Rather than simply picking up items from a shelf, we hope that by using them during your stay, you will truly appreciate the quality and value of these items.

■ Room Information

The accommodation is located on the second floor of a renovated traditional Japanese house.

Passing through a narrow alley and under a noren (fabric curtain), you will find stairs leading up to the second floor when you open the door.
At the top of the stairs, there is a wooden floor space of about four tatami mats, adjacent to two six-tatami-mat Japanese-style rooms, along with a simple washbasin.

The room features traditional lattice windows that have been preserved in their original state, allowing you to observe the people passing through the Bikan Historical District and enjoy the changing scenery throughout the day.

We provide roasted tea from the long-established tea house in front of the inn, drip coffee, and handmade sweets from our sister store.

Please feel free to enjoy them.

The building's original structure has been largely preserved, so the restroom and bath facilities are located on the first floor, accessible by going down the stairs.

We hope you enjoy experiencing the traditional architecture, stepping away slightly from the comforts of modern construction.

Additionally, the bath is a rare cast-iron Goemon-buro, a traditional Japanese bathtub.

The cast-iron bathtub provides far-infrared effects, making the hot water feel smoother and allowing warmth to penetrate deep into your body.

The dressing room is equipped with a washer-dryer, allowing you to do your laundry during your stay, whether you are on a long trip or a business trip.

■ About Breakfast

For breakfast, we highly recommend visiting one of the delicious bakeries or cafes in the Bikan District.

During check-in, our staff, who are locals, will recommend some of the best places to visit.

Facility Precautions

Is the property non-smoking?

The property is completely non-smoking. As the inn is located in the Bikan Historical Quarter, where many traditional buildings are closely situated, there are no designated smoking areas nearby. Guests who wish to smoke are kindly requested to use the public smoking area, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the inn.

Is the property wheelchair accessible?

The inn is a renovated traditional Japanese house. Due to its original structure, including steep stairs and narrow hallways, the property is not barrier-free and is not wheelchair accessible.

Is there a television in the room?

No, there is no television in the inn. We have chosen not to install televisions so that our guests can step away from everyday life, take their time enjoying the items provided in the inn, and appreciate the changing scenery of the Bikan Historical Quarter.

Are there any meal plans available?

Yes, we offer an in-room dining plan served in unique Arita-yaki (Arita ware) jubako boxes. The meals are carefully prepared using seasonal ingredients by a Japanese restaurant in the Bikan Historical Quarter and delivered directly to your room. If you book a room-only plan, we would also be happy to recommend dining options in the Bikan Historical Quarter based on your preferences.

Can I store my luggage before check-in and after check-out?

Yes, luggage storage is available. There is a shop located on the ground floor of the property. Please ask the shop staff or the staff at the neighboring café for assistance. Staff are generally available from around 10:00 a.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m.

Is late check-out available?

Late check-out may be available depending on availability for the following day. If you wish to request a late check-out, please contact us at the time of booking. Please note that a late check-out fee of JPY 2,000 applies.
